Magic Link Connections Magic Link models only

Simply attach your Now TV or Cable TV set-top-box to seamlessly view and record all the exclusive Now TV and Cable TV channels on Magic TV™.

  • Now TV and Cable TV programmes appear on the Magic TV™ Electronic Programme Guides
  • Now TV and Cable TV programmes are recorded to the Magic TV™ Hard Disk Drive
  • Once set up, the Magic TV™ remote is the only one you need to use
  • High Definition channels are viewed and recorded in High Definition

Step 1

Connect your Now TV or Cable TV set-top-box to your aerial/antenna as per their instructions.

Step 2

Instead of connecting to a TV, connect the output of the Now TV or Cable TV set-top-box to one of the inputs of Magic TV™.

If possible, connect your HDMI-equipped Now TV or Cable TV to the HDMI input port of Magic TV™.

Or, if your set-top-box doesn’t have HDMI connect the best available audio and video connections to Magic TV™ (Order of quality is S-Video then Composite Video).

S-Video into Magic TV™

Note: Programmes can only be recorded in High Definition if you have a high definition set-top-box, the broadcast is High Definition, the set-top-box is set to output High Definition and it is connected to Magic TV™ using HDMI.

Step 3

Locate the infrared receivers on your Now TV or Cable TV set-top-boxes and connect the infrared emitter cable (included) to Magic TV™ and place the emitters overhanging the infrared receivers on your Now TV or Cable TV set-top-boxes. Check the relevant documentation for correct emitter placement.

Step 4

Ensure that Magic TV™ is connected to the internet via your home network (see Network Connection and Network Setup).
