Magic TV™ Model Differences

Difference between MTV9000, MTV9500, MTV9100D, MTV9600D and MTV10000D

  • MTV9500, MTV9600D and MTV10000D come complete with a 1TB or 4TB disk so that you can recording straight away.
  • MTV9000 and MTV9100D can record once a USB disk is attached. See Attaching External Hard Disk Drives for details.
  • The more recent MTV9100D, MTV9600D and MTV10000D models feature a faster processor capable of playing Google's VP9 codec and also supporting the latest DRM techologies including WideVine. These models can therefore play 4K YouTube

All models are dual-tuner

Dual tuners allow recording of 2 channels on 2 different UHF frequencies and you can watch a third providing it is also broadcast on one of those same frequencies (see table below).

Channels on same frequencies
(Correct as of 1st Jan 2017)
UHF frequency#1 CH81, CH96, CH99
UHF frequency#2 CH82, CH83, CH84, CH85
UHF frequency#3 CH31, CH32, CH33
For example you could record channel 81 and channel 82 simultaneously, and watch any of 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 96 and 99 at the same time.
